Gold Coast Hardcore band Prepared Like a Bride had their first ever headlining tour this month after releasing their new single earlier this year.

The band’s single, Unforeseen, was released six months after their last EP and four months before they record their first album in September.

The band members have a following of more than 18, 000 people on Facebook and saw hundreds of fans on their Unforeseen Tour.

Bass Guitarist Connor Grant said that the five-piece metal band drove to 14 cities and towns of southern Australia for the tour.

“We wanted to focus more on regional places as well as the big cities for our first tour,” he said.

“We started in Brisbane and made our way down to Adelaide stopping in Port Macquarie, Ourimbah, Newcastle, Sydney, Blacktown, Towradgi, Canberra, Albury, Melbourne, Ballarat, Werribee and Mount Gambier.”

The band started in 2009 playing at local hardcore shows and are now touring internationally with bands such as Tennessee’s A Plea for Purging.

“We have toured around New Zealand four times,” he said.

Prepared Like a Bride vocalist Ryan Bowles said that they had supported many international bands’ tours during the past year and that it was time for them to do their own tour.

“We’ve been touring since 2009 and when Matt Leost of the Artery Foundation became our band general manager we started touring more frequently,” he said.

“I was unsure of what to expect at the first show on this tour but then I was blown away from the positive response from our fans when they sang our lyrics and bought our merchandise.”

The band sold most of their T-shirts, hats, jackets and CDs in Sydney and Melbourne.

“Major cities were better in terms of attendance because we have played there more,” he said.

“Our merchandise tended to sell more in the big cities too.”

Connor said the band released Unforeseen to show followers where their band was heading for the rest of 2013.

“We will be recording our debut full-length album on the Central Coast by Sonny True Love from STL Studios in September,” he said.

He also said that the band will be flying out UK Producers Ben Humphreys and John Mitchell to produce the album.

“We will also be travelling along the east coast of Australia on another tour in September with an international band that has not yet been announced to the public.”

Prepared like a Bride fund their own tours, recordings, productions and merchandise, as they are not yet part of a record label.
