Gold Coast pop-rockers Hollywood Heartache are about to embark on their EP tour across Australia next month.

The band will visit Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney in December with special guests in each city.

Lead guitarist Kevin Kojima said it would be the second time they have toured Australia.

“Two national headline tours for a band that has only been around for a year is pretty insane,” he said.

Supporting the boys in Brisbane will be local band Stateside.

Lead singer of Stateside Erin Reus said they were stoked to have the Hollywood Heartache on the lineup with them.

“And I wouldn’t be surprised if their killer performance gained them heaps of fans in each city,” he said.

It was more than a year ago when Will Parsons and Kevin Kojima formed Hollywood Heartache.

“To complete our line up we needed a drummer and another singer,” said Kevin.

“We knew Josh from a previous band that he played in and thought it would be a good idea to steal him.”

It is unusual to know that some of the Hollywood Heartache members found each other on Gumtree.

“We found AJ on Gumtree… we know it’s weird, but it is better than Craigslist,” said Kevin.

Since then the boys have recorded and released their debut EP Eager Hearts.

Their latest single Sarah Says is a punchy pop song which has gone down a treat with fans.

“We wanted to start something new with a fresh sound,” said Kevin.

The band have no performances scheduled on the Gold Coast, but they do plan on organising something for the fans.

“Nothing is set in stone, but we’re looking to put something together for next year,” said Kevin.

Gold Coast fans can see Hollywood Heartache in Brisbane on December 12 at The Lab.
