Recent sightings of A-list celebrities on the Gold Coast are spurring fans on to prowl about the most popular celebrity hot-spots .

Within the last year the Gold Coast has welcomed Justin Bieber, One Direction, Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Ryan Reynolds, Angelina Jolie, Samuel L Jackson, Hugh Jackman and Taylor Swift.

For Gold Coaster’s wanting to rub shoulders with the rich and famous, Visit Gold Coast suggests heading to Palazzo Versace, Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary or Surfers Paradise Beach.

The theme parks are also an incredibly popular attraction where Russell Crowe and Blake Lively can be spotted on their holidays.

However, it is the lesser known locations – like Elk Café in Broadbeach – where these superstars are usually found.

Biomedicine student and self-confessed celebrity stalker Honor Mijatovic said that you must be calm, cool and collected when meeting a celebrity.

“The really famous celebrities are the easiest people to find,” said Honor.

“Be prepared to drive, be prepared to abandon the car, and be prepared to run.”

Unfortunately, the chances of bumping into a Hollywood star are slim and often comes down to luck.

Commerce student Lachlan Ross said that you need good luck and confidence in order to find a celebrity.

“I’d probably feel shocked and awkward, I wouldn’t want to go up and talk to them,” said Lachlan.

“Good luck finding them.”

The large spike in celebrity appearances on the Gold Coast is partially due to the State Government’s incentive program in bringing Hollywood film productions to the state.

For more information on where to spot a celebrity take a look at Visit Gold Coast and The Islander.
