The Burleigh Village Green Grocer and Juice Bar stumbled upon the perfect day to reopen their business with last weekend the hottest July days in recorded history.

A spokesperson from the business said they were inundated with customers when they reopened their doors on Saturday after refurbishing the store.

“The big crowd was good in order to see how successful the renovations were and how good everything is now laid out,” he said.

“Only a couple of shelves needed changing and that was it.”

Paradise Point local Olivia Weckerle travelled to Burleigh to see their new look and enjoy the beach.

“The renovations look great; I love the slight switch from a green grocer to a juice bar because now there is a lot more space within the store,” she said.

“It’s just so nice to be down here when it is really hot and the Acai bowls make it worth the drive.”

Temperatures topped more than 26 degrees in some areas of the Coast and locals didn’t hesitate to take advantage of summer in July.

Kyle Godwin, 20, headed straight for Burleigh Heads beach to soak up the much unusual winter heat.

“Personally for me this weather is amazing. There is nothing I love more than a warm sunny day and I think it’s so great to see so many other people it also enjoying the weather down here,” he said.

“I can’t remember the last time I actually got to enjoy a good swim at the beach midway through winter. I feel so privileged to be living here on the Coast.”
