A Gold Coast couple’s indoor trampoline business has turned into an overwhelming success after about 500 people flocked through the park’s doors in its opening week.

First-time business owners Loraine Ford and Jared Dunn only opened the Jump On It trampoline park in Arundel two weeks ago yet are already taking bookings for the holidays.

Ms Ford said the couple were surprised and happy with the local support and the number of visitors showed there was a need for their business as one of only two on the Gold Coast.

“A lot of our customers are local and they have been looking for something like this in the area,” she said.

“We are anticipating that we are just going to be busier and busier.”

The couple opened the park after seeing their own children’s enjoyment on trampolines and independently planned and installed the centre, which features 32 base and wall trampolines.

Ms Ford said the couple appreciated the financial and creative demands of a family when creating the park and wanted it to be an affordable and enjoyable option for everyone through the entry fee of $13 for one hour.

“We have got four kids and we have been through all of the things you do with kids on the holidays and weekends,” she said.

“We want to make it affordable for families who have larger numbers of family members such as ours.

“We are not really out to make a lot of money but it is more so for families to get out there, get away from the screens and get away from the technology.”

Ms Ford said Jump On It also attracted cheerleaders, dance groups and football clubs for training.

Gold Coast student Keeley Hartzer said as a member of a water polo team the park’s activities developed and strengthened the lower body muscles.

“I would definitely go because it (the park) just looks amazing,” she said.

“There is nothing like that in the area and it is something new and exciting.”

Ms Ford said plans for expansions to the park had already begun.
